Heim Söhne was founded by Georg Friedrich in 1832 in Ober Ramstadt, the company began as a small comb-making workshop. Thirty years later, his son established Germany’s first comb-making factory, and by 1900, together with the next generation, it had grown into Europe’s largest tortoiseshell processing house. In the 1930s, production evolved to embrace acrylic glass—a modern material worked with the same artistry as tortoiseshell. Today, Heim continues to honor its founders’ legacy, guided by a love of form, precision, and enduring craftsmanship.
