Modeled after authentic 19th-century pottery designs, this miniature pedestal comes to us from Astier’s historic Paris workshop, where it was crafted from black terracotta clay sourced from the Paris Basin and a handcarved plaster mold — a slow-paced, traditional method straight from the Middle Ages that gives each piece its own unique character. Once formed into shape, it’s coated in the brand’s signature milky white glaze, which lets hints of that natural clay color peek through for a perfectly imperfect feel.
